The Phylon midsole is shock absorbing and lightweight, and the rubber outsole has carbon steel spikes embedded for the best possible grip on ice and snow. Instead of the standard laces, the Atop speed lacing system makes dressing and fitting quick and easy, and the laces are secured so they don't come undone in the middle of walking.
