New photo book about the northern lights and the northern people's beliefs about starry skies! When our northern tip is turned away from the sun, Kaamos falls - the polar night. The landscape is on fire but the sky is coming to life. The northern lights dance across the night sky while the starry sky looks down on us and creates stories of adventure. In the book, we get to read about a saga that has been going on for several thousand years and that has no end - the heavenly hunt. We follow the great hunter Favdna as he tries to shoot the huge moose (the crown is Cassiopeia) with his bow (the handle of the Chariot). But Favdna doesn't really dare because he risks hitting the pole star (pole star) and the whole firmament would then come crashing down and smash the earth. For the first time in book form, the northern peoples' own starry sky is illustrated through a painting by Annica Waara. In the book, we also get to learn about how the northern lights occur, the old myths surrounding the northern lights, see beautiful pictures of midwinter landscapes, animals and nature that survive the cold midwinter in the north. We also go through how to best photograph the northern lights and starry skies. Welcome to a beautiful world captured in pictures by Peter Rosén, art by Annica Waara and poetry and prose by Lisa CQ Holmström. The book comprises 60 pages and is printed on the best 170 gram paper with a hard cover for a nice coffee table feel.
